Selling Is A Numbers Game Keep Track Of The Numbers
Whenever you are selling something it is important to remember it is a numbers game and if you can understand the numbers it will simplify the selling process for you. Remember there will be a lot of suspects a few prospects and maybe a few tyre kickers in the process too.
Whenever you do something you will develop a ratio of results, like Dolf De Roos says one of Rich Dads Advisors when buying properties his ratio is to look at 100 Properties Put Offers On 3 Properties and buy one property. Generally this will get him a really good deal.
If you can imagine having a box of 100 combs and you give them to a young boy ad get him to knock on doors a ratio of results will eventually occur.
Say that he knocked 100 doors 40 people may not be in they could be working or away somewhere, 25 people may be completely broke and not have money to buy the comb, 10 of these people could be bald and not need a comb. Out of say 100 people that the young boy approached he may only sell 3 to 5 combs in total. That would be approximately 3 to 5%
This now means that in order to make 15 sales the boy will need to knock on approximately 3 to 500 doors. The same ratios could work for high ticket items like PVC windows,Solar Power,Central Heating Installation ETC.
Websites work exactly the same way, you just need to work out what your conversion rates are. How many people do you need to send to your website to get a sale. How many people do you need to send to your website to get a new subscriber on your email list.
A lot of digital marketers will tell you that on average you should be averaging at least $1 a month for each subscriber on your email list. That means if you have a mailing list of 5000 people that you mail to regularly you should be making $5k per month.
