If you are completely brand new and have no content or traffic on your blog or website you should join my 100 Day Blogging Challenge and maybe checkout my traffic generation post or post on email marketing automation first.

Okay lets assume you are either new and have watched the two mentioned blog posts, or you have been blogging for a while or already have a well established blog or website.

I am sure you already know that building a list and emailing them regularly is the key to increasing your online income tremendously.  If you haven’t already got an autoresponder it is important to have one, you can get a months free trial here.

The thing is it doesn’t matter if you have an autoresponder if you are not getting people to subscribe to your email list.  Of course there are many ways to do this but did you know by just tweaking the amount of subscribers you get could double or treble your income?

Although it still works for some, things the days of putting an ugly optin form  subscribe bar in your top right sidebar and everyone entering their name and email are gone.

The fact is you need to earn your readers trust by giving them access to something useful that will either help them, or at the very least make them curious in order to get their information.

Now of course there are many things you can do with optin forms and popups etc.  But some of them can be quite intrusive and often very untargeted to your audience.

If your audience came from a network marketing group on Facebook chances are they will not be interested in your scrapbooking tips.

Now on the other hand if someone arrives from a network marketing group on Facebook onto your blog and sees a call to action popup asking them if they would like to find out twenty new ways to get more prospects from Facebook. There is a good chance that they will subscribe to your list or at least click on your call to action.
